A common problem in all turf areas is exposure to the elements of the weathering and compaction from people and machines.  The severity of a particular problem will vary according to the regional weather patterns, and agronomic and related management practices on a particular turf area.  In most cases it is not practical to keep the players or equipment off turf areas when weather conditions are undesirable and soil conditions are conducive to compaction.

We know that compaction is the most important factor that limits healthy turf because of its effect on root growth, pore space, water movement and water holding capacity of a soil.  The soil is no longer what nature originally gave us.

When we alleviate the compaction and allow greater water percolation, we automatically increase the amount of air brought into the root zone.

Regardless of where you are, there are certain factors that are necessary to your business of turf management.  All would agree that first you must have a fertile soil to grow turf grass.  There are three other factors that must be present before plant growth can be profitable on that fertile soil.  We know that 95% of what affects the growth of a plant is light, water and air and only 5 % of fertilizer (which is the largest out of pocket expense) is controlled by the 95%.  Water movement is the primary vehicle used to pull oxygen into the soil profile.

AerWay products have demonstrated the ability to mechanically address all of these conditions.

Sports Fields

A common problem on natural turf ball parks, soccer/football/lacrosse fields and polo fields is exposure to the elements of weathering plus compaction from vehicular and foot traffic.  The severity of a particular problem will vary according to the regional weather patterns, use and level of play, multi-sport use, agronomic and related management practices on a particular turf area.  In most cases, it is not practical to keep the players or equipment off turf areas when weather conditions are undesirable and soil conditions are conducive to compaction.

Reducing compaction is key to improving shock-absorbency, protecting the health and safety of athletes, pro or amateur.  Mechanical aeration is the time proven method for effective compaction relief and the stimulation of subsurface air/water percolation without disrupting play. In that arena, nothing beats anAerWay.

In addition to controlling run off and water pooling in low spots, you can reduce your water requirements and achieve quicker response and efficiency from applied fertilizers. Do all of your compaction relief, aeration, thatch management or soil preparation for sanding and overseeding at higher speeds without the costly breakdowns of mechanically driven equipment.

AerWay is the original leader in soil aeration technology and has a variety of tine options available to help you tailor your sports field turf maintenance activities. Quickly replaceable tined roller assemblies and attachments will let you use the same AerWay platform for a multitude of tasks.

Municipalities

Municipalities take pride in their expansive inventory of parks and green spaces.  These popular places must meet the demanding needs of residents and visitors.  Displaying lush and inviting turf requires extensive resources and a regime of lawn cutting, fertilization, and aeration.

Equipment and foot traffic continually compact the turf and the soil then restricts the air and water movement, reducing fertilization effectiveness, and causes poor root penetration.  Both the aesthetic and economic value of the parks and green spaces are negatively affected.

Aerated turf optimizes the air and water circulation, better utilizes available moisture during dry periods, reduces water pooling during wet periods, allows better fertilization integration, and provides a more resilient turf.

The AerWay aeration equipment provides for deeper aeration with little or no visible ground residue.  In fact you can play or use the parks and green spaces directly after aeration.

AerWay is the original leader in soil aeration technology offering a variety of machine sizes and tine options available to help you tailor your municipal turf maintenance activities. Quickly replaceable tined roller assemblies and attachments will let you use the same AerWay platform for a multitude of soil maintenance tasks - efficiently and at the lowest total cost.
