As the company’s longstanding tradition of commitment to innovation in design and engineering of the best spreaders in the fields around the world continues to expand, BBI Spreaders is proud to announce the hiring of Scott DeVeau, the latest addition to the team of people that take our company to new levels of achievement in manufacturing year after year.
Deveau, a Stone Mountain, Georgia native, comes to BBI’s team with over a decade of mechanical design experience for leading brands in OEM/after-market automotive parts and custom motorcycles, as well as stints in telecom and consumer electronics. Part of a working group featuring CAD designer Michael Chipman, operations manager Steve Owenby, and production manager Joe Kingrey, Deveau is delivering foundational engineering documents and mechanical drawings that set the stage for BBI’s commitment to continuous production innovation within its lines of dry applicators and corresponding electronics capabilities that farmers around the world use to implement precision agriculture techniques.
After graduating from DeKalb Technical College with a degree in machine tooling, Scott worked for the well-known electronics brand, Humminbird Fishfinders, followed by his time at Verifiber, a Georgia telecommunications company. Recently, he provided key mechanical design work for Hawg Halter, a manufacturer of custom motorcycles, and Lund International, a leader in OEM/aftermarket parts for cars and trucks.
“We are very proud of this hiring for our design and engineering team,” stated Owenby. “Scott DeVeau brings a wealth of experience to his high-impact role working with Michael Chipman on our mechanical design team, with a keen understanding of how our equipment must remain durable and efficient, as well as compatible with precision ag electronics—all of the factors that will keep BBI in a leading market position that delivers better economics for our users in farming, vineyard, golf course, and municipal operations in the U. S., Canada, South America, Asia, and Australia.”
Scott resides in nearby Flowery Branch, Georgia with his wife and two children. We are proud to have the DeVeaus in the BBI family, working with our team in Cornelia to continue to push standards of excellence in the agriculture and construction equipment industries.
