Meet Tanya, Salford Group Inc., Quality Systems Coordinator

What department do you work in I work in the Quality department at the Salford Headquarters location in Salford, Ontario

How long have you been at Salford: 2 years this month

What stands out to you as an employee at Salford?

We all bring something to the table and work well together. Really have a well-rounded team not just working at headquarters but working together across North America. Plus, all these machines are so big!

What is the day in the life of the Quality Systems Coordinator for Salford:

There is no such thing as a typical day! Some days I hit the floor running, other days being more methodical. I work on quality-related items, documenting improvement opportunities and getting out to the floor, talking to the people who do the hands-on work. Sometimes it’s a week full of audits or training, meetings, walk around, and machine inspections. Work instructions and continuous improvement… it’s never the same and it’s never boring.

What is something that surprised you about Salford/Ag manufacturing that you did know before you started:

It never occurred to me that this kind of machinery was largely built at a single location. I worked in automotive stamping before this, so the parts went to a customer, who added something, then to someone else, then to the end user who made the final product.

Describe working at Salford in 5 words:

Collaborative, rewarding, constantly growing

Any advice you would give to a new hire of Salford:

Give it time. There is a lot to learn and you aren’t going to get it all in the first week. I have been here almost 2 years and am still learning.

Would you recommend Salford to someone looking for employment:

Of course! We have a great team and there are flexibilities here that you don’t get anywhere else. The leadership team is easy to talk to and willing to work with you to meet goals.

What do you enjoy doing in your time away from the office?

I spend time with my 12-year-old daughter and our fancy cats lol. I read love movies and visiting places with some history.
