SS400+ Road Show: Real Results from the Field in Ontario
The Salford SS400+ Road Show kicked off in Ontario, and the first results speak for themselves. Across three farms, the SS400+ Dual Bin Spinner Spreader proved its reach, capacity, and consistency in real-world field conditions.

At Alex Farm, Glider Farm, and Shawstead Acres, the SS400+ covered 444.5 acres in just 2 hours and 23 minutes. That’s an average of 181.7 acres per hour while maintaining speeds around 13 mph. Operators were very impressed when they realized the ease of applying heavy rates, up to 600 pounds per acre at 15 mph while maintaining even spread from start to finish.
Precision and Coverage
The spread pattern was clean and consistent across the full 120-foot swath. Edge-to-edge accuracy eliminated overspreading into fence lines, and the flat pattern design reduced the effect of wind. Producers saw a uniform application that didn’t fade at the edges which is a key advantage for maximizing yields.
More Acres, Less Downtime
With a 427 cubic foot hopper, the SS400+ spends more time spreading and less time waiting at the tender truck. Operators commented that the large capacity keeps the machine moving and helps hit tighter application windows when weather changes fast.
Year-Round Use
The SS400+ also runs fertilizer and lime, making it a strong choice for producers who want to keep equipment working longer through the year. That versatility means more hours of productive use and faster return on investment.
Across every stop in Ontario, the feedback was consistent, the SS400+ delivers real productivity and precision in the field.
The Road Show continues this fall with more demonstrations across North America heading south Michigan on the second leg. Stay tuned for updates as the SS400+ on the John Deere 800R keeps proving what 120 feet of spread width can do. CLICK HERE TO FOLLOW.
