The HALO VRT is the industry’s first variable rate tillage machine on a forward folding, high-speed disk frame. The VRT is engineered to perform the job of multiple tillage machines faster and more efficiently. The HALO VRT features adjustable blade angles to adapt tillage intensity to any field condition with complete control from the tractor cab allowing operators to choose tillage intensity. The narrow, forward folding frame, transports safely and easily between farms and fields. Multiple finishing options with hydraulic down pressure help to achieve the desired field texture. Whether adjustments are needed in the field, from field to field, or from season to season the HALO VRT performs the work of multiple tillage machines in one simple-to-operate platform.
Experience unmatched versatility and durability with Salford’s latest innovation. The 15ft HALO VRT is designed for farms of all sizes, bringing top-tier performance to your fields. Adjust the blade angle on the go to tackle any field condition with ease from your cab. Built with Salford’s renowned durability, this machine ensures reliable performance season after season. Its narrow transport design enables quick and easy movement between fields, maximizing your time and effort.
The 15ft HALO VRT offers powerful versatility for every farm, field, and tractor.
The HALO VRT performs the work of multiple tillage machines in one simple-to-operate platform. With hydraulically adjustable blades, the VRT allows the producer to choose their tillage intensity on the fly from the comfort of the cab. Mounted on 5-inch net spacing, the blades have rubber torsion suspension, capable of 7.5-inches of travel or obstacle protection in rough and rocky conditions. Each 22-inch, wavy blade is independently mounted, absorbing the shock load and providing excellent soil and residue flow through the machine and an even finish at speeds up to 14 MPH.
The HALO VRT’s wide range of blade angle adjustments allow it to perform Spring and Fall tillage with ease. The operator can choose their tillage intensity on the fly with customized blade adjustments between 2° and 15°, all from the comfort of the cab. These adjustments transform the VRT from a vertical tillage and seedbed prep tool to a fall tillage machine, capable of leveling ruts.
The HALO VRT features single point depth control, hydraulic fore / aft leveling and active pressure control on the finishing tool. The VRT’s depth control is completely hydraulic, with no shims or plates required. The operator convenience station keeps implement connections protected, organized and at the operator’s fingertips. The color-coded hose grips take out the guess work when connecting Salford implements to the tractor. The HALO’s narrow, forward-folding design makes the machine safe and easy to transport.
The HALO VRT offers optional hydraulic adjustments for blade angle, wing operation (down pressure, float and fold), fore-aft level and jack position. The electro-hydraulic option reduces the need for 5+ hydraulic remotes down to only requiring 3 for operation. All of these adjustments are made from the cab, on-the-go.
The HALO frame system is engineered to level fields with side-to-side and front-to-back hydraulic settings that keep the machine running level.
HALO’s wings can be run with active down pressure. This keeps the machine operating level from side to side and ensures wings stay engaged in tough conditions.
A hydraulic fore / aft leveling system is designed to prevent the high-speed frame from hopping in rough conditions.
HALO’s mainframe has a large pitch indicator easily seen from the cab that makes it easy to see the fore / aft setting and return to the same position field to field.
HALO models feature flotation tires for maximum field flotation and safe transport. 20-foot through 35-foot machines have 600/50-22.5. 40-foot machines have 800/40-22.5.
HALO models with 30-foot working width and up have wing gauge wheels to keep the machine at the set operating depth. 30-foot models have 500/50R17 gauge wheels, 35 and 40-foot models have 550/45R22.5.

The HALO VRT has three finishing system options. A simple hydraulic pressure adjustment quickly creates the ideal field finish in almost any soil and residue conditions. HALO tools are designed to promote good seed to soil contact by conditioning and sizing residue. The finishing systems further condition and help to evenly distribute residue to improved planting and seeding performance.
Double 14 inch flat bar rolling basket
The double 14 inch roller provides a finer finish and seedbed, but it’s also heavy enough to size soil clods, condition residue and level. The double 14 inch rollers are carried by 1 1/2 inch maintenance free bearings. The linkage is a simple, maintenance-free system with hardened bushings and pins.
23-Inch Round Bar Cage Roller The heavy-duty roller is designed to size soil clods, condition residue and level the field surface. The roller is carried by a heavy-duty disc-style bearing with a wide inner race for proper alignment and maximum durability.
Otico Wave-Profile Farmflex® Roller The flexible roller’s ability to shed sticky soil allows it to excel in a variety of soil types, such as heavy clay and gumbo soils. The flexible roller also helps to minimize damage from rocks and obstacles in the field.
The HALO’s narrow, forward folding frame design is safer and easier to transport between fields. All HALO models can transport under 12-feet wide.

"On hill ground, where we need to keep he residue we'll straight [the blades] up. on flat bottom ground we'll angle [the blades] slightly to prepare that seedbed better." "[The finish] was just as level as a table-top." Johnathan Ayer, Kentucky

"From seeing it at a show to seeing it in our field during a demo the HALO VRT never left. We were able to get rid of two machines and go to one. " - Patric Dunham from Northwest Ohio, USA on his HALO VRT
