Productivity Proven. Control Confirmed. Momentum Builds.
As the SS400+ Road & Row Tour continued across Kansas, the conversation started to shift.
The early stops introduced the machine and showed what it could do. By weeks three and four, operators were no longer just observing. They were putting it to work, measuring it against their current equipment, and seeing the impact in real time.
That shift became clear back at Helena in Goodland.
With five pivot circles to cover, roughly 600 acres in total, the SS400+ was put into a full production scenario. Supported by two tender trucks, the team worked through the entire job in just six hours.
For comparison, that same work would typically take a full day with their 70-foot air boom.

“That was the eye-opener. You start thinking about how many more acres you can actually get across when the timing matters.” Helena Goodland team
It changed the conversation from capability to capacity. Not just how the machine performs on a pass, but how it impacts the entire day and the entire application window.
At the same location, the focus also turned to precision. With support from Jessica Gray on the Salford Engineering team, section control was installed and brought into the field for testing.
After a quick software update, the system was put straight to work along pivot edges and tight boundaries.
“It did exactly what you’d want it to do. As soon as you hit that edge, it shuts down clean. No overlap, no product where it shouldn’t be.” Helena Goodland team
For a machine built around high output, that level of control mattered. It proved that speed doesn’t come at the cost of accuracy.
That same balance carried into Clay Center with Prairieland Partners. Here, the SS400+ handled a 150-acre field bordered by trees and a creek, far from a simple layout.
The machine worked the outside boundary, then moved into full passes, with section control managing edges and eliminating overlap. The entire field was completed in about 30 minutes.
“You’re not just wide, you’re efficient start to finish.” Demo attendee, Prairieland Partners
As the tour continued through additional stops with Nutrien, Wilbur-Ellis, and regional co-ops, something else started to happen. Even locations that had already wrapped their season were paying attention.
They were calling other locations. Asking about Goodland. Comparing notes on acres covered, time saved, and overall performance.
Momentum was starting to carry beyond the demos themselves.
That’s where the shift was just as visible off the machine as it was in the field.
“Once a few locations see it run and start sharing numbers, the conversation changes pretty quickly,” said Greg Mueller, Salford Sales Manager. “It goes from ‘what is it’ to ‘how do we fit this into our operation.’”
That momentum carried into Yates Center with SEK Coop, where operators spent time getting comfortable with the machine and its application.
“You get comfortable with it quicker than you expect. Once you see the pattern and how it responds, it makes sense.” Operator, SEK Coop
By the end of the demo, the shift was clear. The 120-foot swath, combined with section control, offered a noticeable step up from the systems they were used to running.
Across the final weeks in Kansas, the story evolved from introduction to validation.
Operators didn’t just see the SS400+ work, they experienced what it changes. More acres in less time. Less pressure when the window tightens. More confidence in both output and control.
And as the tour moved from Ontario to Michigan and into Kansas, one thing became consistent across every stop. When the window opens, the ability to move fast and finish strong is what sets operations apart. The SS400+ is built for exactly that.
