Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Check Tine Contact
When the tines can no longer reach far enough to effectively contact dirt or residue, it is time to replace them. This happens when the tine length wears from 14 inches to 10 inches (This can be measured from the bottom of the tine to the middle of the coil)
    • Note: Remember that the position of the mounts and stop pins plus how deep you run your harrow will determine when tines will need replacement
  2. Measure with Caution
Be careful when measuring the tines, as they can be extremely sharp. Always use appropriate safety gear to avoid injury.

Tips and Troubleshooting

  • Safety First: Always use gloves and protective gear when handling or measuring harrow tines.
  • Optimal Performance: Replace your tines before they wear down too much, ensuring the harrow performs effectively without causing excessive wear to other components.

By following these steps, you can ensure your Salford HD half-inch harrow remains in optimal condition. Regular tine checks and timely replacements will maximize your machine’s effectiveness in the field.
