Dealer Spotlight (East): Hopf Equipment

A southwestern Indiana farming institution since the mid Seventies, Hopf Equipment is an important member of the BBI family of dealers.  They already set a high benchmark for equipment and part sales, as well as consistent excellence in customer service.

Located in Huntingburg, Indiana, Hopf Equipment began when the Hopf family bought an existing International Harvester and Cub Cadet dealership in August of 1974. Charlie, Mike, and Glen Hopf own and operate Hopf Equipment, and they have grown the dealership to include multiple product lines of new and used machines serving the agriculture and construction industries.  Hopf Equipment also has a sister company, Hopf Outdoor, a retailer of lawn and garden equipment and off-road vehicles.

The Hopf family has centered the growth of its business on its employees, now numbering nearly 40 in parts, service, and sales, and its customers.  According to BBI Director of Sales and Marketing Lee Kilpatrick, the team at Hopf Equipment sets an admirable standard in the area of customer satisfaction through commitment to quality assurance.  “Hopf Equipment is almost without peer in its commitment to the customer experience for all of its products, including BBI spreaders,” stated Kilpatrick. “They check every nut and every grease fitting before they deliver a piece of equipment to the farm.”

Two members of Hopf’s agriculture sales staff, Brad Rashe and Marcus Buetll, have been instrumental in promoting BBI’s line of spreaders optimized for precision applications of fertilizer and lime, including MagnaSpread, the company’s flagship line of hydraulic spreaders.

The Hopf family has expanded the dealership’s 15-acre site to include over 20,000 square feet of indoor space for equipment inventory storage, as in addition to 10,000 square feet of warehouse space.   The company operates within 20,000 square feet of service space, 5,500 square feet for its parts department, and a sales area with nearly 4,000 feet of floor space.

Hopf Equipment is open six days each week at its Huntingburg facility, selling and renting a variety of equipment offerings.  For more information about Hopf Equipment, check out the dealership’s website at
