February 10, 2016 (Salford, ON) – Salford Group, a leading manufacturer of fertilizer application equipment, is unveiling its three point mount for its Valmar 55 series granular applicators for herbicides and cover crops at the 2016 National Farm Machinery Show.
Now, instead of mounting the 55 Series applicator on the top of the incorporating implement, the attachment sits comfortably and securely between the tractor and tool, eliminating the need for customized mounting. The platform can carry all models in the 55 Series line, working widths from 16 to 80 ft and capacities of 900 to 2700 lb (20 to 60 cu. Ft) depending on the model chosen, on the tractor’s three point linkage.
Mounting the Valmar applicator between the tractor and implement allows for simple, organized routing of air hoses. Quick-connectors for airlines make detaching and re-attaching even easier for farmers. This configuration also means farmers will no longer have to purchase custom kits to mount Valmar boxes and the mount is compatible with almost any tool, even multiple tools within the season.
The Valmar three point mount has an integrated drawbar to pull the incorporating implement, and comes complete with hydraulic and electrical hookups. The applicator also has a platform for easy access to the hopper and a ladder that folds away while in operation.
The three point mount will accommodate ground driven metering or hydraulic variable rate. All Valmar 55 Series tools allow for half-section shut off to eliminate application overlap. The model being shown at the National Farm Machinery Show is equipped with a TeeJet IC18 control package with a TeeJet CL250 Monitor for precision application.
The applicator box also has integrated stands for storage or easy hook up and dismount from the tractor linkage.
The three point mount for the fertilizer applicator was engineered at the request of cover crop farmers and fertilizer applicators who want to use the the Valmar 55 Series but found the top-mount to be labor intensive and costly. Creating a solution to this problem is just another way Salford is staying true to its roots – by listening to the farmer and engineering for their needs.
Its draw bar is presently rated for 250 hp and Salford is working with its customers to explore the need for higher horsepower models as well.
